Dear Supporter of the Air Force Monument,

Former Secretary Peter J. Gravett, California Department of Veterans Affairs, formally approved the placement of five service monuments upon the hallowed grounds of the Northern California Veterans Cemetery (NCVC) in Igo, CA. Included in this approval was the go-ahead to begin work on the first of five service monuments, this one dedicated to the men and women of the United States Air Force.

The 12-foot tall aluminum Air Force Monument is titled “Into the Wild Blue Yonder” and reflects upon the Air Force’s history and mission. When constructed, it will include a globe 5 feet in diameter, resting upon a 3 foot high pyramid, with a 6 foot square base. Encircling the globe and spiraling 4 feet into the heavens will be an aluminum contrail with a deltoid-shaped aerospace vehicle at its tip.

Fundraising has begun and we’d like to invite you to become a member of our High Flight Club. Here’s how the program works.

The Air Force Monument will rest upon a four-sided concrete and granite base. In addition to aircraft engravings, members of our High Flight Club will have their names inscribed as follows:

  • Platinum Star Donor (a gift of $20,000 or more)
  • Silver Star Donor (a gift of $10,000 to $14,999)
  • Gold Star Donor (a gift of $15,000 to $19,999)
  • Bronze Star Donor (a gift of $5,000 to $9,999)

Your generous cash donation would be greatly appreciated. Simply complete and mail back the High Flight Club form, along with your donation. Or, do everything on-line using PayPal. The choice is yours.

Please accept our thanks, in advance, for your support of this important project intended to honor all our Air Force men and women. Should you require additional information about the project, please feel free to contact the committee at (530) 347-6431.

Thank you!
